Not really big ones, although I did ride my bike in different European countries and also saw parts of Thailand and Laos from the seat of a motorbike. Went hiking in Nepal and Alaska. From a physical point of view I started with judo, volleyball and general fitness but he also done some motorbiking. I’ve also competed in some survival runs in Holland as well as competing Tough Guy. Brilliant event. The British are indeed a little crazy.
Previous rowing experience:
Very little. Rowed in a four on flat water.
Why the Great Pacific Race:
It is by far the biggest, energetic and most adventurous event of my life!! I’m to face physical and mental boundries yet undiscovered. Also the fact that rowing with three others is very daring. Not to say that we’re strangers to each other but yet too meet. Getting along for better and worse will be challenging. But I have the upmost feeling that with the four of us will get to Hawaii. And that we will perform to our max! My personal goals: Get to Hawaii, be safe, have fun, learn more about myself and benefit the team so that as a team, we can perform at our best.
Best part of the race: The Start and the finish.
The Start is when it really begins, all the efforts you put in, your dream is getting into reality!
The Finish is when you realise you made it. With each other you have fulfilled your and each others dream! And it is when I get to hug my girlfriend again…
